CAMPHILL BIODYNAMIC SEMINAR
The Biodynamic Seminar was established to meet the needs of practising biodynamic farmers and gardeners. It provides the time, space and freedom for experienced land workers to share their thoughts, air their questions and listen to the experiences, thoughts and emotions of fellow land workers in "retreat-like" surroundings.
The Seminar consists of eight long weekends, spread over a two-year period. Each weekend has a specific theme, which participants will have studied and researched in their own time, and is geared towards both active contribution from the participants and discussion. Conversations are punctuated by artistic activities – singing, eurythmy, and Goethean observations, particularly concerning the plant. A sharing of personal biographies and one’s aspirations for the future with respect to biodynamics usually takes place in the final parting session. Each weekend is hosted at a different venue within the British Isles, which allows for interchanges to take place between the hosting community and the Seminar participants.
The Seminar is open to biodynamic land workers with at least two years’ experience. Other interested individuals from other streams of life are welcomed, but a basic knowledge of anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner’s Agriculture Course is essential.
