2007  new work opportunities! In addition to main list

Ty'r Eithin is an 80  acre biodynamic holding in the beautiful Gwendraeth valley, near Carmarthen, West Wales. We run a small dairy herd, of some 10 cows, keep goats, sheep, hens, bees, gardens etc. Run as a charity supporting an adult with special needs and also providing children or young people with a small farm experience.
Looking for people to get involved: short term voluntary help welcomed: currently seeking long term co-workers to carry the project forward. Lots of potential for developing  eg cheese or yoghurt making, local sales of meat, vegetables, community supported agriculture, more involvement of young people on the land.
If interested please contact Tony or Sue Mathews 01269 870720, for more information, or e-mail tonyandsue@phonecoop.coop

Workers required on Demeter certified smallholding in Herefordshire.

Our 30acre farm is situated on the Welsh/ Herefordshire borders, at the foothills of the Black Mountains . Our main focus is vegetable production, however we also produce small quantities of pork, beef, lamb, eggs, duck and chicken. We sell directly to families and individuals. Our aim is to produce the best food possible, by creating the correct environment to enable the produce to be of outstanding quality both nutritionally and in its taste. The position would suit anyone with an interest in quality food, its production, cultivation and marketing.

We would like people to start from the spring (March) and stay until the end of October. Applicants must be physically fit, and be prepared to work hard, within a team of like-minded workers. Jobs include the sowing of seeds, planting, cultivation, harvesting, lots of weeding, some animal care. And generally mucking in with all aspects of farm life.

Accommodation is basic and self-catering. There are shared amenities between maximum of six people.

As with most beautiful locations we are quite cut off from transport links and shops. Own transport would be an advantage, but not totally necessary.

If you are interested in learning about biodynamic farming and growing, living in the countryside for six months or so, and eating beautiful vegetables ..then please call Jane 01981 510288
