On the 15th February 2012 The European Commission, the US Department of Agriculture and the US Trade Representative finalised and signed a bilateral cooperation arrangement on organic equivalence. This means that apart from a few issues, produce certified to EU Organic Standards can be marketed in the US without further NOP certification. The documents indicated below outline this new opportunity and the few exceptions that are not included in the agreement.
