Join us for a three day workshop at Ruskin Mill on Biodynamics with Dennis Klocek.
Work on the land requires interaction with many different levels of the life of the Earth. Inorganic substances must be applied to the land with understanding. Complex requirements of plants and animals must be managed with skill. And then there is the task of making a living interacting with the chaos of the natural world. In contemporary life these tasks complete the demands made on agriculturalists. In Biodynamics however, there are other dimensions of the work that lead the practitioner to considering the influence of planetary rhythms or the synergies between plants and animal physiology. Beyond these aspects there is the potential for the sacred dimension of the work on the land. This places the human being into a meditative context where the Earth is experienced as a living spiritual being whose cosmic life is intertwined with the evolution of humanity. This is in contrast with the current view that sees the Earth simply a resource to be manipulated.
This workshop will trace an alchemical path through these dimensions seeking to reveal how the inner life of a Biodynamic practitioner can ease the task of organizing the many aspects of work on the land as well as provide the foundation of a spiritual practice for enhancing the spirit of a human who seeks to collaborate with a living Earth.
