HEAD GARDENER/GROWER FOR WALLED GARDEN Wanted

Laverstoke Park is a North Hampshire based Organic and Bio Dynamic Farm producing the best-tasting, healthiest food & drink without compromise. Our operation is diverse and includes an abattoir, boning, processing plants as well as curing hall, development kitchen, biology and a chemistry laboratory and our diverse dairy factory.  We specialise in producing a wide range of high quality produce “from the field to the fork” this includes; meat, beer and sparkling wine, dairy, including; mozzarella, burrata ricotta and the best ice cream in the world.  Our products are sold nationally in premier food halls, prestigious restaurants and multiple retailers as well as web sales and two own brand shops.

We are currently looking for a Head Gardener/Grower for our Walled Garden. The role will be responsible for growing the Estate and Farm shop vegetables.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing one full time member of staff and up to five casual workers during our busy season.
Daily vegetable preparation for the Estate House and Farm Shop.
Harvesting and picking vegetables
Weeding
Sowing
Planting
Pruning
Keeping records of organic and biodynamic applications and understanding the applications
Crop rotation in the walled garden plus 4 acres
Pruning the Orchard

The role will involve working with garden machinery such as, strimmers, rotavator and tractors.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about growing vegetables, has a flexible adaptable nature, is self motivated and reliable. An experienced vegetable grower would be desirable. A valid UK driving license is required.
