Young Farmer Wanted - wishing to get a start in farming,

We have an opportunity for a young person or couple wishing to get a start in farming, who will work under the guidance of our expert dairyman.

The successful candidate(s) will be:

  • intelligent, capable, hard-working, committedto biodynamic farming principles, and willing to learn all aspects livestock husbandry, dairying  and cheese-making, so as tocarry on the operations independently.   

Our main purposes are to:
•    Establish a profitable mixed farm which demonstrates the usefulness and viability today of traditional breeds and sustainable practices.
•    Create a herd of Dairy Shorthorns, the ideal ‘organic’ cow.
•    Make a superior artisan cheese on the farm.
•    Keep breeds of sheep, swine, fowl, to supply pristine meats.
•    Use the farm to teach and promote biodynamic practices.    •    
Our successful candidate will partner in the application for the farm tenancy.
Our farmer, Tom Ripley, will live on and run the farm.  Accommodation for
the young farmer(s) will depend on circumstances on the actual farm.
