Seeking Biodynamic farm apprentice

Camphill Community Ballybay (a rural life-sharing Community with people with special needs) is currently looking for a Biodynamic Farm apprentice starting from anytime now onwards. Our 20ha farm of mixed dairy and beef is the ideal space for someone wanting to engage into the practical based Biodynamic apprenticeship scheme which is run by the Biodynamic Agricultural Association in UK and accredited by Crossfield Institute. Although some experience with farming would be helpful it is as such not generally required. Ideally the apprentice would live in one of our community households as a co-worker. For people interested or any other inquiries please contact us.

BD FARM APPRENTICE POSITION
Lake House Farm is seeking a BD farm apprentice available to start in
January 2013.
The farm (200 acres) comprises of a dairy herd, White Park suckler cows,
Wiltshire Horn sheep, rare breed pigs, layers, meat birds and turkeys. Arable
crops including wheat and oats are grown, BD preps are all made on-farm
and we also apply compost teas. We also host regular school visits between
March and September. The estate also has a small kitchen garden, horses
and a stocked lake.
The potential apprentice would be the only other full-time member of staff
apart from the Farm Manager so would be able to and encouraged to take an
active hands-on role in all the farm enterprises. Including all types of livestock
work, tractor and loader operations, processing of farm products, BD prep
work, compost tea application and helping with educational visits.
On-farm accommodation is available in the form of a 1-bedroom cottage flat
and a stipend would be paid. As we are a predominately livestock farm some
weekend work would be required. Also during busy times such as harvest and
lambing, extra hours may need to be worked.

I'm looking to start an apprenticeship this year.

I've been working on and off on organic farms for 3 years, for the most part as a volunteer but last year as a paid seasonal worker. I first experienced Biodynamics whilst WWOOFing on an Anthroposophic estate in Holland where I work with the Biodynamic dairy and market garden, and  it was from there I got first hand exposure to the ideas, practices and people involved. The experiences stayed with me ever since and lead me to seek training in Biodynamics.

My main area of interest is horticulture though I am comfortable with helping with animals if needed. I'd like to find a training centre that can offer further experience with vegetable, herb and flower growing, I'm open to different social situations though I think working in a community would suit me best.
