Ruskin Mill College is situated within the beautiful Cotswold hills and valleys, near Stroud. Our farm is spread over 100 acre of land and contains a herd of ‘Gloucester’ cattle, a flock of ‘Lleyn’ sheep, some ‘Gloucester’ sows and pigs, two ‘Persheron’ working horse, which do all necessary cultivation work and about sixty chickens, gardens with fruit, herbs, flowers,  greenhouses and field vegetables, an extensive sustainable managed woodland and numerous craft-workshops.
Apprentices work alongside the staff and students on the land for the majority of the time. They take part in regular tutorials and extensive study, as well as practical work to develop their understanding of earth, men and cosmos. Ruskin Mill is part of the Severn Valley Biodynamic  Training and Seminars and offers the BDAA Diploma in Biodynamic Agriculture.

Ruskin Mill College is an innovative further education centre providing a range of individualised courses for young people with special learning needs. Frequently, these are young people who have had a traumatic experience of life, education and social relationships.  Many come with disturbed patterns of behaviour. Students engage in activities in the workshops and within the landscape where they not only learn new skills but also learn to feel better about themselves.

Kai Lange

I am passionate about ‘earth, people and cosmos’. I love working on the land, teach and engage people of all ages and abilities. In 2008 in Ruskin Mill I rediscovered my skill in horse work and since explore its potential for the future. My biodynamic experiences are broad and started 1985 in Germany, Seven years in Denmark and since 2000 in England. 18 years of fruit and vegetable growing and 8 years of farming are full of educational and commercial connections. Since 2004 I am an active member of the national biodynamic trainers group and have international connections. My vision for agriculture are sustainability, community, individuality, communication, love and art.
