A 100 acre (40ha) Camphill community farm on the Dorset-Hampshire border. The community consists of about 45 people many of whom have special needs.  It is linked to the nearby Camphill Sheiling School in Ringwood. This brings the total population to nearly 250.

The farm is divided into three different work areas – farm, garden and forestry. The garden is a large market garden growing vegetables and some fruit for the community. It also supplies a regular market stall and a small farm shop. The mixed farm carries dairy cows, beef, pigs and poultry and grows forage and cereals for its own use. Both meat and dairy produce are consumed within the community. The forest team cares for the estate and woodland and has also taken on the seed work. Sturts farm supplies some vegetable seed to Demeter Seeds Stormy Hall in Yorkshire.

Apprentices can choose to focus on horticulture, farming or both. Apprentices work alongside people with special needs and can participate in Camphill's rich cultural life.  We will have one vacancy for a garden apprentice at the end of summer 2011.
