About us

Tablehurst is a 500-acre mixed biodynamic/organic farm in Forest Row, East Sussex, with mob grazing Sussex horned cattle, Jersey dairy herd, arable, pasture, ponds, woodland, and footpaths on Wealden AONB. It includes a vegetable/fruit garden, polytunnels, farm buildings, bakery, pie kitchen, farm shop, café, and farmer accommodation. The farm produce, beef, lamb, pork, poultry, local wild venison, raw dairy, pastries, fruit and vegetables, is mainly sold through the on-site farm shop.

Tablehurst Farm is looking for a House Coordinator for our small, family-style care home on the farm. We hope to find a warm, friendly and caring individual, ideally with some experience of social care, who will live in at Tablehurst Farm Cottage and look after our three adult male residents, each of whom has mild learning disabilities.  As accommodation is included, this situation might also suit a couple.

Rated ‘Good’, by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our care home is an integral part of Tablehurst Farm Ltd, a biodynamic and organic community farm in Forest Row, East Sussex. You will be one of three care home staff, the others being the registered manager (who does not live in) and a resident part-time co-worker.

We will provide suitable training (eg Care Certificate, First Aid, Food Hygiene etc), as required. Should you wish to develop a career in social care, we will also consider funding NVQ Level 5 training for anyone wanting to become a CQC Registered Manager.

The House Coordinator receives a salary and is provided with full board and lodging as well as a 20% staff discount in the Tablehurst and Plaw Hatch farm shops. A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required for this post. A full driving licence would be useful but is not a requirement.
