This year marks 100 Years since the birth of Biodynamics – the Agriculture Course was given by Steiner during the Whitsun time in 1924. We would like to celebrate this event together with everyone interested from our region or further afield.

This will consist of four events: we will start together as a group in Botton, North Yorkshire in May,  followed  biodynamic preparation spraying events in June and July and finish with with another group gathering at
Clervaux, Darlington  where we will be sharing the Harmonizing Preparation for everyone to take
home.

The celebration has a threefold aspect to it as we could imagine the first day as having an emphasis on celebrating the past, the sprayings on celebrating the present and the last day as looking into and celebrating the future.

Proposed Programme of Events

1. Saturday 11th May 2024
Venue: Botton Village,  Danby, Whitby, N Yorks
10am – Welcome and coffee
10.30am – Introduction and song / Celebrating and remembering all the Biodynamic Work that has happened in Botton / Sharing of the work and experiences of organic and biodynamic work in the area as well as our personal relationship/connection with Botton
12.30am – Lunch with soup and rolls
1.30pm – Celebrating stirring and spraying of 500 – future intentions for the different places
4.00pm – Closing thoughts and looking ahead
4.30pm – Coffee / tea and depart

From this event we have 2 moments of spraying (500, 501) in our own areas, when we would aim to spray at the same time, holding each other in mind while doing it,  namely

2. Thursday 13th June 2024  at 3pm  – sprying of the Horn Manure Preparation

3. Thurday 25th July 2024 at 6am  – spraying the Horn Silica Preparation

4) Saturday 5th October  tbc
Venue: Clearvaux, Darlington tbc
10am – Coffee and garden/farm walk for those who don’t know Clervaux. Everyone is welcome.
12.30pm – Bring and share harvest meal.
2pm – Eurythmy (TBC)
2.45pm – Open forum:
Brief introduction to Hugo Erbe (1885-1965) and the Harmonizing Preparation.
Sharing of our experiences while spraying.
Looking into the future: What is our task into keeping Biodynamics vibrant and alive in our region? Is there a need for more collective work/study/celebrations of Biodynamics?
4pm – coffee and good byes. We will be giving the Harmonizing Preparation to everyone to take home. This preparation is sprayed around Michaelmas time as an expression of gratitude to the elemental beings.

We are hoping that many will be able to join this celebration from all over the region.
We very much hope that we can, in the spirit of reflecting and celebration, give thanks to all those who have done so much for Biodynamics as well as to give all of us inspiration to continue to take Biodynamics into the future.
