As the final item of the Agenda we will introduce our draft proposals for our strategy for the next five years\, Strategy 2026-30. We welcome feedback from member shareholders. The theme this year will be exploring ‘Funding for Agroecological Farms’ and the different funds available across local and national government to support farm viability. \nThis session aims to deepen the ongoing conversation around multi-enterprise strategies\, farm diversification\, and succession planning by exploring how government grants and funding streams can support farm viability. SUMMARY:An Introduction to Gardening the Biodynamic Way Sunday 28 September 2pm - 5pm\, London
DESCRIPTION:With Dr Sue Peat and Douglas Davidson\nVenue: Rudolf Steiner House\, 35 Park Rd\, London\, NW1 6XT https://rsh.anth.org.uk/\nTimings: 2-5PM\nCost and Booking: All welcome\, no need to book. Full £10\, Concession £5 \nAbout this workshop: \nBiodynamics is an organic method of cultivation arising out of Rudolf Steiner’s Spiritual research. It was his response to questions from farmers who were unhappy with ‘chemical’ agriculture. Biodynamics works with the rhythms of the movements of the Sun\, Moon\, planets and stars\, to which the plants respond. The workshop will cover the background of the biodynamic planting calendar and using the biodynamic preparations. It’s Autumn\, a time to harvest\, enjoy the changing colours and plan for next year. The workshop will include presentations of research that demonstrate the benefits that biodynamics brings to the environment\, the soil\, the plants and to improvements in food quality. \nFor the last hour\, you get an opportunity to stir the horn manure preparation (known as 500)\, so bring an empty screw top bottle if you would like to take some home. A 500ml bottle is enough for an average garden. The workshop is suitable for those new to biodynamics and for anyone who would like to give their garden\, window boxes or house plants a winter treat! \nSue and Douglas are enthusiastic gardeners with lots of practical experience in biodynamic gardening.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Gardening the Biodynamic Way\, With Dr Sue Peat and Douglas Davidson- Sunday 27th July 2-5pm\, London
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Rudolf Steiner House\, 35 Park Road\, London NW1 6XT \nBiodynamics is an organic method of cultivation arising out of Rudolf Steiner’s Spiritual research. It was his response to questions from growers who were unhappy with ‘chemical’ agriculture. Biodynamics works with the rhythms of the movements of the Sun\, Moon\, planets and stars\, to which the plants respond. The workshop will cover the background to the biodynamic planting calendar and using the biodynamic preparations. \nIt’s coming up to summer\, a time when the results of our endeavours begin to flower and fruit and biodynamics comes into it’s own. The workshop will include presentations of research that demonstrate the benefits that biodynamics brings to the environment\, the soil\, the plants and to improvements in food quality. \nFor the last hour\, we’ll stir the horn manure preparation (known as 500)\, so bring an empty screw top bottle if you would like to take some home. A 500ml bottle is enough for an average garden. The workshop is suitable for those new to biodynamics and for anyone who would like to give their garden\, window boxes or house plants a summer treat! \nSue and Douglas are enthusiastic gardeners with lots of practical experience of biodynamic gardening. \nAll welcome\, no need to book. \nFull £10 / Concession £5 \n

SUMMARY:Goethean Plant Study Days: 7th and 25th June 2025\, Weleda Gardens\, Derbyshire
DESCRIPTION:Connect with nature at Weleda  – Get to know one of our medicinal plants in depth at the beautiful Weleda Gardens in Derbyshire \nThere’s now a greater understanding of the importance and benefit for people to re-connect to nature. Goethean plant study can help us to develop a closer relationship to whatever it is in nature that we’re studying. Working as a group can also validate our individual experiences and show us that we are often more observant and perceptive than we give ourselves credit for.\n\nFollowing the ideas of Goethe\, we will look at the plant in the living sequence of it’s movement and transformation from a seed through rooting\, leafing and flowering to when it bears seeds itself.\n\n Unlike the conventional scientific approach\, Geothean science includes (and validates) our human intuitive and emotional responses to whatever it is we’re studying. Scientific rigour is still an important part of the process\, but as the ‘instruments of perception’ we as humans can learn so much more about a plant than just relying on lab tests and chemical analyses.\n\nWe will participate in detailed observation\, sketching\, and using our memory to grow the plant in our imagination; in this way\, together\, we try to relate to its being and gesture (what the plant is telling us) and finally how that may relate to the human being.\nWe will discover lots of aspects we didn’t know before and forge new connections to the plant world!\nTickets are £35 per person and include a Weleda Goody Bag.\nTo Book see https://www.weleda.co.uk/courses-and-workshops \nAgenda for each day:\n10.00 Welcome and introduction\n10.15 – 11.00 Workshop part 1\n11.00 – 11.15 Tea break\n11.15 – 12.30 Workshop part 2\n12.30 – 1.15 Lunch (bring your own)\n1.15 – 2.30 Workshop part 3\n2.30 – 2.45 Tea break\n2.45 – 4.00 Workshop part 4 and conclusion \nPlease note\, this event is for 18+\, or over 16s if accompanied by an adult.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Intuition & Experience (Perceiving Nature Spirits) with Karsten Massei 12th - 14th May 2025\, Emerson College\, E Sussex
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Emerson College\,  Hartfield Road\, Forest Row\, East Sussex RH18 5JX\nPractising supersensible perception.\nThere are many ways to sense beyond the capacities of our ordinary senses. Karsten will give preparatory exercises and meditations to help us attune to subtler levels and the beings who inhabit them\, especially nature spirits. Then there will be time for sharing our experiences.\nAn important topic will be the reality of the beings of the elemental world. The spirits of nature live in the landscape\, in the plants\, and accompany the animals and humans. We want to ask ourselves what our responsibility is to the nature spirits\, what they want from us\, and how we can work together.\nHowever\, the seminar is designed to encourage participants to practise independently. Exercises\, meditations\, nature walks and discussions are elements of the joint work. They are carefully introduced and accompanied.\nFFI and booking see  https://calendar.emerson.org.uk/events/karsten-massei-workshop-1-intuition-and-experience/\nAbout Karsten Massei:\nKarsten was born in Berlin in 1963 and has worked as a curative educator in Switzerland for the last 30 years. He developed his clairvoyance through spending time with medicinal herbs in their natural environment\, and has written six books on Nature Spirits\, including “The School of the Elemental Beings”\, his latest book is “Connecting with Nature – Earth and Humanity what unites us?” published by Temple Lodge. He was a keynote speaker at the “Nature Spirits and Humans” conference in 2019 and gave a workshop in the Weleda herbal medicine garden.

SUMMARY:Nature Spirits: Recovering our Dialogue - Nourishing renewal for ourselves and the Earth\, Llangammarch Wells\, 4th - 6th April 2025\, With Susan Raven
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Serenity House\, Llangammarch Wells\, LD4 4BY\nDates and Timings: Starting at 6.30 pm with supper on Friday 4th April and finishing at 2 pm after lunch on Sunday 6th April 2025 Cost and booking: Group size limited to 16 people\, so book now to ensure a place.\nEarly Bird Discount until 31st January 2025\nResidential: Early Bird £230\, Regular £250. £10 reduction per person if sharing a room.\nNon-residential: Early Bird £120\, Regular £140.    Some concessionary places are available.\nFor enquiries and bookings:  Contact Alan Heeks: alanheeks@gmail.com\, tel. 07494 203014. \n “The Nature Spirits are waiting to be reunited with us\, and as emissaries of higher spiritual beings\, they wish to be of great assistance to us at this time\, but we have to step into their world and meet them in their own territory. It is time to engage in dialogue and relearn a living world wisdom from the elemental kingdom.” \nThis weekend will help you play your part in regenerating the vitality of the earth\, water and air\, which are so degraded at present. The elementals and other Nature spirits who sustain our ecosystems urgently need human connection to sustain themselves and their vital work. \nNature speaks\, and everything in Nature is communicable. The intelligent beings of Nature wish to communicate and co-create with an awake and aware humanity. \nSo how do we contact them? How do we learn from them? How do we enter the dream-time of their world? How do we interpret the sensations we experience with them? And how are we transformed by our meeting with them? \nAt this workshop we will be exploring the methods used for seership and communication as described by the philosopher\, scientist and seer\, Rudolf Steiner. We will be focusing on ways in which we can build a mutually rewarding line of communication with the nature spirits\, so that we may receive information and insight into their world. By working together with the elementals -which reside in earth\, water\, air and fire -we can become responsible co-creators at this critical time in our evolution. In this workshop Susan will be describing the activities of the nature spirits in the landscape\, in plants and in the human being. We will be looking at ways in which we can effectively help these generous inhabitants of the supersensible realm for the ultimate benefit of us all. \nSusan Raven is an experienced facilitator and also a talented singer and musician. She has worked with the methods and exercises described by Rudolf Steiner for seeing into the supersensible realms\, and has also trained with Dorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute. Susan is author of the popular book ‘Nature Spirits: The Remembrance: A guide to the Elemental Kingdom’\, featured in the Cygnus magazine\, Nexus\, Star & Furrow and Caduceus. See www.susanraven.com. \nWorkshop content  Our process will be participative and experiential. We’ll spend substantial time outdoors\, engaging with nature spirits in the garden at our venue\, and in the wild open hills of the Mynydd Epynt nearby. \nDuring the weekend we will be exploring: \n\nRudolf Steiner’s ‘Six Essential Exercises’ for awakening supersensible perception\, with special emphasis on control of thinking and control of feeling. (It is more important to be in a state of Grace than to be ‘right’ if you wish to enter the realm of the nature spirits!)\nThe significance of colour on the inner and outer screen.\nThe language of sense\, sound and movement.\nProtocols for greeting and questioning the nature spirits.\nWays in which the human being can help the elementals return to their right and proper sphere.\n\nOur venue: Serenity House\nSerenity House is in the quiet village of Llangammarch Wells\, in the beautiful Irfon Valley\, with high hills nearby. It is formerly a small hotel\, lovingly refurbished as a retreat centre\, with 12 en suite bedrooms\, 22 bed spaces\, and a delightful garden bordered by a stream. \nSerenity House is in mid-Wales\, easily reached by car (Bristol 2 hours\, Birmingham 2.5: postcode LD4 4BY)\, and Llangammarch’s tiny station is only 100 yards away (on the Shrewsbury-Swansea line). \nPracticalities:\nFood: The price includes vegetarian food for the whole weekend. To deepen our sense of community and keep costs down\, we’re asking all participants to help with food preparation\, table laying\, etc. \nResidential or non-residential: The venue has twin\, double and single rooms\, or you can book on a non-residential basis\, which includes all meals.

DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Emerson College\, Hartfield Rd\, Forest Row RH18 5JX\nCost £170\n \n\n\nOur tech affects us\, we are learning this the hard way\, but what is going on behind the dark psychological effects we are experiencing? Some people accept the existence of spiritual beings within plant life\, nature spirits if you like\, but what is less well known is that all man made devices have a similar sort of entity within them which we connect with when using tech\, and which can become parasitic of us. \n\nFrank Burdich is a professional clairvoyant and former science teacher with a highly developed capacity to see non-physical structures. He has conducted extensive research into technical devices and their elementals\, and how they interact with humans\, and will give both a lecture and workshop at Emerson College on this topic.\nFFI and to Book visit  https://calendar.emerson.org.uk/events/frank-burdich-workshop-technology-and-spirituality/\n\nFrank will give a public lecture on Thursday 20th February\, 19.30 – 21.00\, at Rudolf Steiner House\, London on “Tech and You – A two-way relationship”\, this lecture will be repeated at Emerson on Friday 21st February\, 1930 – 2100. It acts as a useful introduction to the workshop. \nAbout Frank Burdich\nFrank was for 14 years an Upper School science teacher at a Waldorf School in Germany during which time he pursued an Anthroposophical spiritual path and became clairvoyant. He has been lecturing on supersensible perception since 2007\, and in 2012 founded his own supersensible research company Gesellschaft für angewandte Geistesforschung mbH which provides supersensible research services in a range of contexts such as medicine preparation\, mistletoe based remedies\, oncology\, special needs conditions\, spiritual audit of buildings and technical devices\, as well as lecturing and giving workshops on a variety of spiritual topics. SUMMARY:An Introduction to Gardening the Biodynamic Way with Dr Sue Peat and Douglas Davidson Sunday 16 February 2pm - 5pm
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Rudolf Steiner House\, 35 Park Rd\, London NW1 6XT\nBiodynamics is an organic method of cultivation arising out of Rudolf Steiner’s Spiritual research. It was his response to questions from farmers who were unhappy with  ‘chemical’ agriculture. Biodynamics works with the rhythms of the movements of the\nSun\, Moon\, planets and stars\, to which the plants respond. \nThe workshop will cover the background to the biodynamic planting calendar and using the biodynamic preparations.\nIt’s coming up to spring\, so we will focus on sharing tips for preparing your garden\,  allotment or pots for the growing season. \nFor the last hour\, we’ll stir the horn manure preparation (known as 500)\, so bring an  empty screw top bottle if you would like to take some home. A 500ml bottle is enough  for an average garden. The workshop is suitable for those new to biodynamics and for anyone who would like to give their garden\, window boxes or house plants a spring treat! \nSue and Douglas are enthusiastic gardeners with lots of practical experience of  biodynamic gardening.\nAll welcome\, no need to book.   Full £10 / Concession £5
