SUMMARY:The Flowform Principle - A practical flow design workshop 14th July (4pm) to 16th July (12.30pm)\, Glos
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Old Mill House\, Chalford\, GL6 8NX \nFlowform vessels embodying rhythmic flow were discovered in 1970 by John Wilkes but they have a timeless quality and are always finding new applications. The forms are used in many agricultural\, horticultural and ecological systems and also have aesthetic qualities many people find supportive. \nAlthough some designs have taken much time and skill to create the basic principles are simple – anyone can work with them creatively and it can be an enriching experience to do so. \nThe workshop will start with an introduction to the nature of harmonic flow in water and its capacity for rhythm. There will be demonstrations of how the Flowform principle can be embodied before we play with clay and water. We can then use pumps\, pipes \, boards\, tanks etc to explore flow possibilities in channels and vessels . \nThe various methods for making permanent sculptures can be explained but it will not be possible to create a permanent form to take away at the end. Forms in wet clay could be taken for subsequent moulding if desired. \nSuggested contribution to include 3 vegetarian meals and refreshments £150\, \nMinimum contribution to cover materials etc  £75. \nMaximum number of participants 10. \nTo book or for more information please contact:– Simon Charter 07814 786682    Email  simon.charter@live.co.uk

SUMMARY:Gene Editing Regulation – Acknowledging Uncertainty Webinar 13th June 2pm to 3.30pm FREE
DESCRIPTION:Register your free place here \nAs the UK and EU consider the deregulation of gene-edited organisms in food and farming\, a persistent criticism has been government and policymakers’ failure to acknowledge or take account of uncertainties inherent in deregulation\, and the role that uncertainty plays in determining risk\, safety\, sustainability and appropriateness. \nThis failure is\, in part\, a result of decision-makers reliance on a very narrow range of specialist scientific advisors – the very opposite of what is needed in a post-normal science era\, where the stakes are high and science is less able to bring certainty to complex issues\, and where greater uncertainty demands consideration of the wider landscape and of views and inputs from a more diverse pool of expertise. \nJoin us as we explore some of the facets of uncertainty which sit at the intersection of genetic technologies and the agricultural and natural environment relevant to a ‘fit for purpose” regulatory discourse. \nSpeakers \nAnne Ingeborg Myhr\, SVP Biotechnology and Circular Economy at the independent research institute NORCE\, who will be speaking on a post-normal science approach to the regulation of genome edited crops and foods. \nMargret Engelhard\, Head of Division on GMO-Regulation and Biosafety at BfN (the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation)\, who will talk about the intended use of gene editing and gene drives in wild nature and how this increases uncertainty and therefore the need for wider input into regulation. \nDr Sarah Zanon Agapito\, Research Professor at NORCE in Norway\, speaking about the challenges and uncertainties in detection of new GMOs and the need for a multifaceted approach to this. \nFurther speakers to be announced. \nChair \nLawrence Woodward Director A Bigger Conversation/Beyond GM. Co-founder and former Director of the Organic Research Centre – Elm Farm\, Lawrence acts as an advisor for several projects related to seed production\, organic farming techniques and health. \nRegister your free place here

SUMMARY:Communicating and Co-creating with the World of Nature Spirits and Elementals – Stage 2 with Susan Raven 27th - 28th May 2023
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Weleda Biodynamic Gardens\, The Field\, Off Heanor Road/Hassock Lane North (A6007) Shipley DE75 7JB\n(This workshop is open to participants who have completed the Stage 1 course)\nWorkshop Fee: £95 (£80 early-bird price ends 28th April)\nStart and finish times: 9.30am – 5.00pm  each day \n“Nature groans under the travail of waiting for us to participate. People used to live in the ‘Will of Nature’. We don’t. Our magic is… push the button and it happens and who cares! We pass the implications of this on to the Earth. We need imaginative forces to solve these problems\, and the schooling of the heart means we learn to think and work with living pictures.”\nDenis Klocek\, Director of Consciousness Studies\, Rudolf Steiner College\, USA. \n“Knowledge will take us up to a point\, imagination will take us everywhere. Creation sighs for a new creative human.”\nDorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute \nRudolf Steiner indicated that at this point in our evolution\, certain higher Nature Spirits would be retreating and that human beings would have to take on their tasks. With this great responsibility before us\, it is important to discover what these tasks are and to discern how we are to take them on. We are being called into conscious co-creatorship with Nature and Dr Steiner tells us that our mission will ‘come towards us’ if we are open and willing. \nOur intellectual soul is strengthened by concepts that fit\, but our consciousness soul wants to know more. It yearns to expand out into the bigger picture and to become a part of the phenomena we are researching\, and ultimately co-creating with. During this course\, we will be exploring more of the exercises described by Rudolf Steiner aimed at awakening our dormant capacities of supersensible perception. \nCo-operation between ourselves and the Nature Spirits through methodologies like ‘Word Meditations’ and ‘Plant/phenomena Spirit Protocols’ can take us beyond standard scientific research methods. Our task is to explore the landscape of the supersensible dimensions and to recognise the vocabulary of colour\, vibration\, movement\, mood\, feeling-tones and symbology. \nOn Sunday we will be celebrating the Little Creation ceremony and we will be adding a new move to the ritual. \nAbout Susan Raven: \nSusan Raven is an experienced workshop facilitator and a long time student of Anthroposophy. She has worked with the methods and exercises described by Rudolf Steiner for seeing into the supersensible realms\, and has also trained with Dorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute.  Susan is author of the popular book ‘Nature Spirits: The Remembrance: A guide to the Elemental Kingdom’\, featured in the Cygnus magazine\, Nexus\, Star & Furrow and Caduceus. \nBeverages are available at the venue\, please bring packed lunch. \nStart and finish times: 9.30am – 5.00pm \nFor more information about the course or to book a place\, please contact Susan at the following address: raven@izun.co.uk \nReviews:\n“Your workshops have real substance!” \n“Inspiring\, fascinating\, it opened up the potential for doing something really useful in the world.” \n“Susan is providing such a high level of reinforcement for all we have seen\, sensed and co-created with Spirit. I will be going over and over her\nwritings in her book\, so that I can find as clear a way as possible into the kingdoms with whom we are sharing this life.” \n  \n

SUMMARY:Healthy nutrition and community – more than just a common meal - With Dr. Jasmin Peschke 8th & 15th May 2023\, 14.00–16.00 CEST online
DESCRIPTION:Community in the food system\, with oneself and with the microbiome\nWith Dr. Jasmin Peschke and Lea Sprügel \n8th & 15th May 2023\, 14.00–16.00 CEST  (Central European Summer Time) \nA meal forms community offers opportunities to meet and increases enjoyment. In the community\, eating and living habits can also be reflected upon and changes can be sustainably established. In addition to table fellowship\, our food choices are the basis for relationships. \nWhat we eat is directly related to the health of the earth. Thus\, the way in which food is produced\, processed and traded matters. Collaboration based on trust and appreciation is the best approach. The topic of food and community will be very broadly defined. An aspect of community even exists in the microbiome\, which wants to be nurtured. The workshop will comprise contributions\, conversation and practical exercises. \nFor full details / booking and the programme see  https://www.sektion-landwirtschaft.org/4b-nutrition-and-community \n\n\n\n\nCourse leader\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJasmin Peschke \nJasmin Peschke holds a PhD in nutrition science and has been concerned with the quality of food for over 30 years. SUMMARY:Communicating and Co-creating with the World of Nature Spirits and Elementals Stage 1: 22nd to 23rd April 2023
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  The Weleda Biodynamic Gardens The Field Off Hassocks Lane Ilkeston DE75 7JH\nFor Full details and to book via Eventbrite click here\nCost £85 \n‘The Nature Spirits are waiting to be reunited with us\, and as emissaries of higher spiritual beings\, they wish to be of great assistance to us at this time\, but we have to step into their world and meet them in their own territory. It is time to engage in dialogue and relearn a living world wisdom from the elemental kingdom.’ \n*Nature Spirits: The Remembrance\nNature speaks and everything in Nature is communicable. The intelligent beings of Nature wish to communicate and co-create with an awake and aware humanity. So how do we contact them? How do we learn from them? How do we enter the dream-time of their world? How do we interpret the sensations we experience with them? And how do we begin to co-create with them? \nAt this gathering in the beautiful environs of the Weleda Biodynamic Gardens\, we will be exploring the methods used for seership and communication described by the philosopher\, scientist and seer\, Rudolf Steiner. We will be focusing on ways in which we can build a line of communication with the nature spirits\, in order that we may receive information and insight into their world. By working together with the elementals – which reside in earth\, water\, air and fire – we can become responsible co-creators at this critical time in our evolution. In this workshop\, Susan will be describing the activities of the nature spirits in the landscape\, in plants and in the human being. We will be looking at ways in which we can effectively help these generous inhabitants of the supersensible realm for the ultimate benefit of us all. \nDuring the weekend we will be exploring:\n1) Rudolf Steiner’s ‘Six Essential Exercises’ for awakening supersensible perception\, with special emphasis on control of thinking and control of feeling.(It is more important to be in a state of Grace than to be ‘right’ if you wish to enter the realm of the nature spirits!) \n2) The significance of colour on the inner and outer screen. \n3)The language of sense\, sound and movement. \n4) Protocols for greeting and questioning the nature spirits. \n5) Ways in which the human being can help the elementals return to their right and proper sphere. \nIt is time to return to a respectful and interactive relationship with the vast community of nature beings with whom we share this sacred world. \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Susan Raven\nSusan Raven is an experienced workshop facilitator and a long-time student of Anthroposophy. She has worked with the methods and exercises described by Rudolf Steiner for seeing into the supersensible realms and has also trained with Dorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute.  Susan is the author of the popular book ‘Nature Spirits: The Remembrance: A guide to the Elemental Kingdom’\, featured in the Cygnus magazine\, Nexus\, Star & Furrow and Caduceus. \nPlease bring packed lunch\, beverages are available at the venue.\nStart and finish times on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd April : 9.30am – 5.00pm \nFor more information about the course please contact Susan: raven@izun.co.uk or Visit www.susanraven.com \nor book directly on Eventbrite here \n\n\n\nWorkshop reviews: \n“You created a beautiful ‘space’ in which to explore\, test and trust insights. In so short a time I feel my understandings came together meaningfully\, most unexpectedly\, as if a window to Truth was just waiting to be opened. Thank you for having been the one to open the window! \n“Thank you so much for a truly inspiring and uplifting weekend. It was so moving and rewarding working in that way and finding how many wonderful observations and messages came through. I will use those methods regularly from now on to connect with nature.” \n“Your workshop had real substance!” \n  \n \n
