He will bring his insights into such questions and others of an esoteric nature. He will engage us with practices to work with these forces. \n…. “Even the slightest progress on the spiritual path will be in vain if the motive is to further our own progress and knowledge of the spiritual world\, or if we are driven by vanity…. People who have grasped the need for spirituality… will carry over the knowledge presented… creating a new culture of spiritual and brotherly love”.\nFrom; Experiences From the Threshold and Beyond by Are Thoresen. SUMMARY:Biodynamic Agriculture & Anthroposophy Free online course 27th November to 18th Dec 2023
DESCRIPTION:This course is being offered by the Agricultural Section at the Goethenum as a gift as part of the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of Biodynamics 1924-2024 \nEnroll here \nThrough deepening into anthroposophy\, biodynamic agriculture can be experienced in a truly fruitful way. Anthroposophy develops an image of the human being\, whereby the human being – completely connected with the soil\, plants\, animals and the climate – is able to penetrate nature in such a way that a personal relationship with the spiritual world of beings\, which appears in it\, can develop. \nOut of this spiritual relationship\, you can work practically\, for example with the biodynamic preparations\, you can shape the farm into a living organism and align your commitment with the big picture of the earth as a living being. \nWhere does the human ability to cultivate nature come from? How far are we as human beings actually allowed to cultivate nature agriculturally? These are some of the questions we will look at in this course. \nFind here a report from a participant of the first course in November 2021 \n\n\n\n\nCourse leaders\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUeli Hurter   Co-Leader of the section of Agriculture\, since 2010. Board-member of the General Anthroposophical Society\, since 2020.\nIn the Supervisory Board of the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International\, since 2020. For 30 years biodynamic farmer in Switzerland on ‘Ferme de L’Aubier’ an Co-entrepreneur in the associative initiative L’Aubier\, until end of 2020.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJean-Michel Florin  Studied agriculture and nature conservation\, coordinator of the biodynamic association in France (MABD) and trainer for bd farming\, author and editor of books and journals\, expert and speaker on the subjects: Goethean approach of nature\, medicinal plants\, landscape\, viticulture\, etc. Since 2010 Head of the Section for Agriculture. In the Supervisory Board of the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International\, since 2020.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe course lasts four weeks\, 7 live sessions 2h with a maximum weekly workload of 6h. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPractical exercises as well as self-study and peer group learning accompany and connect the regular live sessions during the four weeks of the course. \n\n\n\n\nParticipation terms\nThe in-depth modules are designed to support people who want to work in the field of biodynamic agriculture at the level of farm management\, communication\, advisory services\, training\, coordination or research. They are mainly addressed to people who already have previous knowledge and are connected to the biodynamic movement. A basic interest in the anthroposophical background\, as well as the will to explore the subject in depth\, should be present. \n

We would like to explore the idea of “interfluence” through this conference\, meaning this word to represent “mutual influence” and “multidirectional interplay”. \n“Interfluence” doesn’t simply replace “mechanism” but rather invites qualitatively different\, more appropriately fluent and inter-relational ways of thinking. \n“Global” interfluence includes motions and effects of the hydrosphere\, biosphere and atmosphere in relation to the sun and moon\, at least. “Biological” includes the various forms of organic life on earth – microbial and fungal as well as plant and animal\, and their interactions. “Human” includes the imagination\, creativity and activities of we humans\, and our influence on earth systems. So our fields of reference are broad\, but particular attention will be paid to environmental and organic circulatory systems\, including our own\, which help to unify the diversity and maintain continuity through continual change. \nSaturday morning will include hands-on\, interactive experiences of fluidity\, aiming to engage and educate our senses. \nOn Sunday morning\, participants will be invited to share their perspectives on interfluence in relation to their own areas of interest. \nThere will be space for dialogue among all participants\, and we look forward to meeting and hearing from the work of Vesna Forštnerič Lesjak\, Prof Meinhard Simon and Dr Philip Kilner. \nVesna has recently become joint leader of the Natural Science section at the Goetheanum. She is a pharmacist\, biodynamic farmer and Goethean researcher. Since 2013 she has run a production company for food supplements and cosmetics. She has helped to establish and manage an association for further education in natural sciences – “Sapientia”\, and the section for anthroposophical pharmacy and medicine in Slovenia. \nMeinhard is Professor of Aquatic Microbial Ecology at the University of Oldenburg in North-West Germany where he supervises researchers in fields such\, biological oceanography\, environmental microbes and microbiome ecology. He retired in July\, which will leave him freer to participate in events such as this. He is member of the board of the Natural Science Section for about 30 years \nPhilip has retired from his posts as Consultant and Reader in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance at Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College in London. Previously\, after studying flow with John Wilkes\, he researched flow in relation to reconstructive heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital\, London. His central interest is in our healthy living blood circulatory system and heart. \nOrganising Group \, Alex Murrell\, Philip Kilner and Simon Charter.   For the Natural Science Group of the Anthroposophical Society in Britain  Cost £125 including meals (concessions available please ask) \nBookings contact:   simon.charter@live.co.uk. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Communicating and Co-creating with the World of Nature Spirits - Stage II: 13th- 15th Oct 2023 with Susan Raven\, Wales
DESCRIPTION:A workshop with Susan Raven at The Urdd Centre\, Pentre Ifan\, Pembrokeshire.\nOn the weekend of the 13 th – 15th of October 2023 \n(This course is open to participants who have completed a Stage 1 course\, and to those who are following a regular spiritual practice in Nature) \n“Knowledge will take us up to a point\, imagination will take us everywhere. Creation sighs for a new creative human.”\nDorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute \nAs human beings\, we incarnate into a whole field of relationship and connectedness with the beings of Nature\, but most of us are unaware of this vibrant field. The nature spirits and elementals are part of the natural order of things and they are active within an eco-system parallel to the physical ecology we are all familiar with. At this time in our evolution\, it is vital that we repair our connection with their world and begin to create a field of harmonic inter-relationship and co-creativity. \n“Nature groans under the travail of waiting for us to participate. People used to live in the ‘Will of Nature’. We don’t. Our magic is… push the button and it happens and who cares! We pass the implications of this on to the Earth. We need imaginative forces to solve these problems\, and the schooling of the heart means we learn to think and work with living pictures.”\nDenis Klocek\, Director of Consciousness Studies\, Rudolf Steiner College\, USA. \nThere is an intelligence in everything around us; and with interest\, reverence and wonder we can access the pure wisdom of nature’s phenomena. When we learn to use the heart field to engage in a direct exchange of meaning\, without the intermediary of biased mental languaging\, we can allow the beings of nature to speak in their own terms. A collaboration between nature spirits and humans will bring about a co-creation of new ideas and visions for the future. \nAt this gathering in the beautiful environs of The Urdd Centre and the ancient Ty Canol woods in West Wales\, we will be exploring the methods used for seership and communication described by the philosopher\, scientist and seer\, Rudolf Steiner. We will be focusing on ways in which we can build a line of communication with the nature spirits\, in order that we may receive information and insight into their world. By working together with the elementals – which reside in earth\, water\, air and fire – we can become responsible co-creators at this critical time in our evolution. In this workshop\, Susan will be describing the activities of the nature spirits in the landscape and in the human being. We will be looking at ways in which we can effectively help these generous inhabitants of the supersensible realm for the ultimate benefit of us all. \nNature speaks and everything in Nature is communicable. The intelligent beings of Nature wish to communicate and co-create with an awake and aware humanity. So how do we contact them? How do we learn from them? How do we enter the dream time of their world? How do we interpret the sensations we experience with them? And how do we begin to co-create with them? \nDuring this course\, we will be exploring more of the exercises described by Rudolf Steiner aimed at awakening our dormant capacities of supersensible perception. \nCo-operation between ourselves and the nature spirits through methodologies like ‘Word Meditations’\, ‘Plant/phenomena Spirit Protocols’\, eurythmy and focused ceremony\, can take us beyond standard scientific research methods. Our task is to explore the landscape of the supersensible dimensions and to recognise (and respond with) the elemental vocabulary of colour\, vibration\, movement\, mood\, feeling-tones and symbology. \nFor further information about the course and to book a place\, please contact Susan at the following email address: raven@izun.co.uk \nwebsite: https://www.susanraven.com/ \nWorkshop fee: £130 early booking is recommended as places are limited. \nThis price includes delicious organic\, home-cooked meals by super-cook Vivienne Collins and also includes basic shared accommodation. To view the location and venue please click on the following link: \nhttps://www.urdd.cymru/en/residential-centres/pentre-ifan/ \nSusan Raven is an experienced workshop facilitator and a long-time student of Anthroposophy. She has worked with the methods and exercises described by Rudolf Steiner for seeing into the supersensible realms and has also trained with Dorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute. Susan is the author of the popular book ‘Nature Spirits: The Remembrance: A Guide to the Elemental Kingdom’\, featured in the Cygnus magazine\, Nexus\, Star & Furrow and Caduceus. \nReviews:\n“Your workshops have real substance!”\n“Inspiring\, fascinating\, it opened up the potential for doing something\nreally useful in the world.”\n“Susan is providing such a high level of reinforcement for all we have seen\, sensed and co-created with Spirit. I will be going over and over her writings in her book\, so that I can find as clear a way as possible into the\nkingdoms with whom we are sharing this life.”

SUMMARY:The Flowform Principle - A practical flow design workshop 14th July (4pm) to 16th July (12.30pm)\, Glos
DESCRIPTION:Venue: Old Mill House\, Chalford\, GL6 8NX \nFlowform vessels embodying rhythmic flow were discovered in 1970 by John Wilkes but they have a timeless quality and are always finding new applications. The forms are used in many agricultural\, horticultural and ecological systems and also have aesthetic qualities many people find supportive. \nAlthough some designs have taken much time and skill to create the basic principles are simple – anyone can work with them creatively and it can be an enriching experience to do so. \nThe workshop will start with an introduction to the nature of harmonic flow in water and its capacity for rhythm. There will be demonstrations of how the Flowform principle can be embodied before we play with clay and water. We can then use pumps\, pipes \, boards\, tanks etc to explore flow possibilities in channels and vessels . \nThe various methods for making permanent sculptures can be explained but it will not be possible to create a permanent form to take away at the end. Forms in wet clay could be taken for subsequent moulding if desired. \nSuggested contribution to include 3 vegetarian meals and refreshments £150\, \nMinimum contribution to cover materials etc  £75. \nMaximum number of participants 10. \nTo book or for more information please contact:– Simon Charter 07814 786682    Email  simon.charter@live.co.uk

SUMMARY:Gene Editing Regulation – Acknowledging Uncertainty Webinar 13th June 2pm to 3.30pm FREE
DESCRIPTION:Register your free place here \nAs the UK and EU consider the deregulation of gene-edited organisms in food and farming\, a persistent criticism has been government and policymakers’ failure to acknowledge or take account of uncertainties inherent in deregulation\, and the role that uncertainty plays in determining risk\, safety\, sustainability and appropriateness. \nThis failure is\, in part\, a result of decision-makers reliance on a very narrow range of specialist scientific advisors – the very opposite of what is needed in a post-normal science era\, where the stakes are high and science is less able to bring certainty to complex issues\, and where greater uncertainty demands consideration of the wider landscape and of views and inputs from a more diverse pool of expertise. \nJoin us as we explore some of the facets of uncertainty which sit at the intersection of genetic technologies and the agricultural and natural environment relevant to a ‘fit for purpose” regulatory discourse. \nSpeakers \nAnne Ingeborg Myhr\, SVP Biotechnology and Circular Economy at the independent research institute NORCE\, who will be speaking on a post-normal science approach to the regulation of genome edited crops and foods. \nMargret Engelhard\, Head of Division on GMO-Regulation and Biosafety at BfN (the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation)\, who will talk about the intended use of gene editing and gene drives in wild nature and how this increases uncertainty and therefore the need for wider input into regulation. \nDr Sarah Zanon Agapito\, Research Professor at NORCE in Norway\, speaking about the challenges and uncertainties in detection of new GMOs and the need for a multifaceted approach to this. \nFurther speakers to be announced. \nChair \nLawrence Woodward Director A Bigger Conversation/Beyond GM. Co-founder and former Director of the Organic Research Centre – Elm Farm\, Lawrence acts as an advisor for several projects related to seed production\, organic farming techniques and health. \nRegister your free place here

SUMMARY:Communicating and Co-creating with the World of Nature Spirits and Elementals – Stage 2 with Susan Raven 27th - 28th May 2023
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  Weleda Biodynamic Gardens\, The Field\, Off Heanor Road/Hassock Lane North (A6007) Shipley DE75 7JB\n(This workshop is open to participants who have completed the Stage 1 course)\nWorkshop Fee: £95 (£80 early-bird price ends 28th April)\nStart and finish times: 9.30am – 5.00pm  each day \n“Nature groans under the travail of waiting for us to participate. \n“Knowledge will take us up to a point\, imagination will take us everywhere. Creation sighs for a new creative human.”\nDorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute \nRudolf Steiner indicated that at this point in our evolution\, certain higher Nature Spirits would be retreating and that human beings would have to take on their tasks. With this great responsibility before us\, it is important to discover what these tasks are and to discern how we are to take them on. We are being called into conscious co-creatorship with Nature and Dr Steiner tells us that our mission will ‘come towards us’ if we are open and willing. \nOur intellectual soul is strengthened by concepts that fit\, but our consciousness soul wants to know more. It yearns to expand out into the bigger picture and to become a part of the phenomena we are researching\, and ultimately co-creating with. During this course\, we will be exploring more of the exercises described by Rudolf Steiner aimed at awakening our dormant capacities of supersensible perception. \nCo-operation between ourselves and the Nature Spirits through methodologies like ‘Word Meditations’ and ‘Plant/phenomena Spirit Protocols’ can take us beyond standard scientific research methods. Our task is to explore the landscape of the supersensible dimensions and to recognise the vocabulary of colour\, vibration\, movement\, mood\, feeling-tones and symbology. \nOn Sunday we will be celebrating the Little Creation ceremony and we will be adding a new move to the ritual. \nAbout Susan Raven: \nSusan Raven is an experienced workshop facilitator and a long time student of Anthroposophy. She has worked with the methods and exercises described by Rudolf Steiner for seeing into the supersensible realms\, and has also trained with Dorian Schmidt\, director of the Biodynamic Research Institute.  Susan is author of the popular book ‘Nature Spirits: The Remembrance: A guide to the Elemental Kingdom’\, featured in the Cygnus magazine\, Nexus\, Star & Furrow and Caduceus. \nBeverages are available at the venue\, please bring packed lunch. \nStart and finish times: 9.30am – 5.00pm \nFor more information about the course or to book a place\, please contact Susan at the following address: raven@izun.co.uk \nReviews:\n“Your workshops have real substance!” \n“Inspiring\, fascinating\, it opened up the potential for doing something really useful in the world.” \n“Susan is providing such a high level of reinforcement for all we have seen\, sensed and co-created with Spirit. I will be going over and over her\nwritings in her book\, so that I can find as clear a way as possible into the kingdoms with whom we are sharing this life.” \n  \n

SUMMARY:Healthy nutrition and community – more than just a common meal - With Dr. Jasmin Peschke 8th & 15th May 2023\, 14.00–16.00 CEST online
DESCRIPTION:Community in the food system\, with oneself and with the microbiome\nWith Dr. Jasmin Peschke and Lea Sprügel \n8th & 15th May 2023\, 14.00–16.00 CEST  (Central European Summer Time) \nA meal forms community offers opportunities to meet and increases enjoyment. In the community\, eating and living habits can also be reflected upon and changes can be sustainably established. In addition to table fellowship\, our food choices are the basis for relationships. \nWhat we eat is directly related to the health of the earth. Thus\, the way in which food is produced\, processed and traded matters. Collaboration based on trust and appreciation is the best approach. The topic of food and community will be very broadly defined. An aspect of community even exists in the microbiome\, which wants to be nurtured. The workshop will comprise contributions\, conversation and practical exercises. \nFor full details / booking and the programme see  https://www.sektion-landwirtschaft.org/4b-nutrition-and-community \n\n\n\n\nCourse leader\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJasmin Peschke \nJasmin Peschke holds a PhD in nutrition science and has been concerned with the quality of food for over 30 years. She is a certified trainer in Empathic Food Testing and after working in quality management and quality development for the food and cosmetics industry\, she has been working at the Section for Agriculture at the Goetheanum since 2016\, where she heads the Nutrition Department. Her central concern is to highlight the complex interrelationships in the food system – in lectures\, events and projects as well as in her current book “From the Field to the Plate” (not translated into English yet).  She wants to encourage people to cultivate their own self-determined diet and thereby contribute to a healthy future. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLea Sprügel \nLea Sprügel has completed her master’s degree in nutritional medicine. She gained her first experience at the world’s leading fasting clinic Buchinger Wilhelmi at Lake Constance and has been working as a certified nutrition therapist since 2021 both in her own practice and at Lehenhof\, a Camphill community at Lake Constance (living community with people with assistance needs). She is passionate about teaching mindful eating\, which includes awareness of one’s own individual needs as well as food. The focus is on the self-efficacy

SUMMARY:Communicating and Co-creating with the World of Nature Spirits and Elementals Stage 1: 22nd to 23rd April 2023
DESCRIPTION:Venue:  The Weleda Biodynamic Gardens The Field Off Hassocks Lane Ilkeston DE75 7JH\nFor Full details and to book via Eventbrite click here\nCost £85 \n‘The Nature Spirits are waiting to be reunited with us\, and as emissaries of higher spiritual beings\, they wish to be of great assistance to us at this time\, but we have to step into their world and meet them in their own territory. It is time to engage in dialogue and relearn a living world wisdom from the elemental kingdom.’ \n*Nature Spirits: The Remembrance\nNature speaks and everything in Nature is communicable. The intelligent beings of Nature wish to communicate and co-create with an awake and aware humanity. So how do we contact them? How do we learn from them? How do we enter the dream-time of their world? How do we interpret the sensations we experience with them? And how do we begin to co-create with them? \nAt this gathering in the beautiful environs of the Weleda Biodynamic Gardens\, we will be exploring the methods used for seership and communication described by the philosopher\, scientist and seer\, Rudolf Steiner. We will be focusing on ways in which we can build a line of communication with the nature spirits\, in order that we may receive information and insight into their world. By working together with the elementals – which reside in earth\, water\, air and fire – we can become responsible co-creators at this critical time in our evolution. In this workshop\, Susan will be describing the activities of the nature spirits in the landscape\, in plants and in the human being. We will be looking at ways in which we can effectively help these generous inhabitants of the supersensible realm for the ultimate benefit of us all. \nDuring the weekend we will be exploring:\n1) Rudolf Steiner’s ‘Six Essential Exercises’ for awakening supersensible perception\, with special emphasis on control of thinking and control of feeling.(It is more important to be in a state of Grace than to be ‘right’ if you wish to enter the realm of the nature spirits!) \n2) The significance of colour on the inner and outer screen. \n3)The language of sense\, sound and movement. \n4) Protocols for greeting and questioning the nature spirits. \n5) Ways in which the human being can help the elementals return to their right and proper sphere. \nIt is time to return to a respectful and interactive relationship with the vast community of nature beings with whom we share this sacred world. \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Susan Raven\nSusan Raven is an experienced workshop facilitator and a long-time student of Anthroposophy. \nPlease bring packed lunch\, beverages are available at the venue.\nStart and finish times on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd April : 9.30am – 5.00pm \nFor more information about the course please contact Susan: raven@izun.co.uk or Visit www.susanraven.com \nor book directly on Eventbrite here \n\n\n\nWorkshop reviews: \n“You created a beautiful ‘space’ in which to explore\, test and trust insights. In so short a time I feel my understandings came together meaningfully\, most unexpectedly\, as if a window to Truth was just waiting to be opened. Thank you for having been the one to open the window! \n“Thank you so much for a truly inspiring and uplifting weekend. It was so moving and rewarding working in that way and finding how many wonderful observations and messages came through. I will use those methods regularly from now on to connect with nature.” \n“Your workshop had real substance!” \n  \n \n
