New Farm Manager opportunity at Forty Hall Farm
20th August 2018

Tablehurst farm is a 600 acre mixed biodynamic farm in the south-east of England. We are community owned and produce vegetables, grain and meat for our farm shop. We also have a bakery, pie kitchen and café on site and we run a small residential care home for people with learning disabilities.

Tablehurst Farm is looking for a farm team member, taking responsibility for our pig and poultry enterprises with 15 breeding sows, fattening and 10000 broilers per year.

You will be part of a team of 4 farmers and 2 apprentices. You will be involved in all aspects of the farm but your main focus will be on pigs and poultry.

We are also looking for a farmer taking responsibility for our beef herd (55 suckler cows with followers), 60 breeding ewes with lambs and a small herd of 6 dairy cows producing raw milk. The dairy is a new enterprise at Tablehurst which we aim to have up and running by spring 2019.

You will be part of a team of 4 farmers and 2 apprentices. You will be involved in all aspects of the farm but your main focus will be on the dairy, beef and sheep.

You are a positive, energetic person, passionate about sustainable farming with a strong desire to improve and develop the enterprises as integral parts of the whole farm organism. You have a strong interest for biodynamic farming in general and for pigs and poultry or dairy cows, beef and sheep in particular. You have previous experience in organic or biodynamic farming and a valid driver’s licence.

You have good social and communication skills and like to work in teams. You are organised and motivated  and you have a practical approach to running an enterprise without losing sight of your ideals. We offer an interesting and diverse work environment and the opportunity to take part in shaping the farm’s future development. You will receive breakfast and cooked lunch each working day, a discount in our farm shop and free on-farm accommodation. Salary depending on experience £16000-£18000.
