Michael Hall School in East Sussex is set in a large estate, which includes a 1-Hectare Victorian walled garden. This garden is used for education and biodynamic production, growing a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits all from seed to supply many local outlets.
There are four large poly-tunnels within the walled garden and an apple orchard nearby. This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a small-scale biodynamic market garden placed in a unique and vibrant educational setting. You will be involved in all aspects of the operation including sowing, planting, maintaining, harvesting, marketing, selling and so on.
I am looking for a full time volunteer from April until October 2019. Accommodation in a self-contained onsite studio flat, some food and living costs will be provided. Two references and a DBS check provided free of charge by the school will be needed.
