Farm Shop opportunity, E Sussex
22nd July 2022

We are looking for a grower (or a couple) who would enjoy the challenge of developing a market garden that will provide produce for kitchen workshops/community meals and local markets. Commitment to regenerative practices is essential together with experience of growing in a chemical-free, organic or biodynamic enterprise. The grower(s) will need to be able to work on their own initiative as well as collaboratively as part of a growing farm team. Wider farm skills or livestock experience is also welcomed. Accommodation is available if required.

Haymans Farm is a beautiful 150-acre farm situated in West Sussex on the edge of the South Downs National Park. It is a family farm where for many years the land has been used for sheep grazing and haymaking. The farm is now evolving to produce a wide range of food. Guided by biodynamic practices, the aim is to preserve and build the health of the soil allowing it to produce vital food and sequester carbon.  A barn conversion will enable small groups to use food from the farm to engage in kitchen and cooking experiences allowing for a better understanding of food and its relationship to health and wellbeing.

Our aim is to create a strong team to build and integrate the component parts of the farm, working together to maximise the potential of the land, focusing on sharing the magic of the place and creating a community around food.
