Cherry Orchards is actively seeking new members, particularly those with an interest in working on the land and developing leadership skills to sustain the community over time. A position exists for someone to step up to co-manage the land and garden. Our aim is to be growing a sustainable, year round supply of fruit and vegetables.

Applicants will need to demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas:

  • All aspects of gardening.
  • Experience of using machines, tractor, rotavator and strimmer, an advantage.
  • Working as part of a team with the ability to self-manage and manage others.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage risk.
  • Engage in a community with a wide range of groups and individuals.

Desirable qualities of the candidate would also be:

  • Committing to living in an intentional community for long enough to develop projects to fruition
  • An interest in organic and Biodynamic methods of agriculture and horticulture
  • A relationship between personal and environmental wellbeing.
