Biodynamic on farm day – Hungary Lane Farm 26th July 2023
28th June 2023Private Chef
29th August 2023The Biodynamic Association (BDA) is really sad to see the Seed Cooperative go into administration. These are sad and challenging times.
Many years of inspiration, vision and hard work have been contributed by many people in the biodynamic movement for the great work of Stormy Hall Seeds to take up a new incarnation as the Seed Cooperative. Also, many people, Trusts, and Foundations have invested in the future of this venture over the past seven years or so.
The situation over more recent years has been complex, as it has for many organisations with complex and diverse challenges (including covid, cost of living, Brexit etc). These have not led to the Seed Coop being a buoyant company able to ride its difficulties. In the end, the Directors and staff had to call in the administrators. Staff will be supported as best as possible in the circumstances, as far as we have been told.
As we, the BDA, and the general public can see with so many other cases of businesses going into administration, it means all may not be completely lost, maybe there is hope for biodynamic and organic seeds in some other form in the future.
I am sure the Seed Cooperative is extremely grateful to all those who have supported its work over the years. Seeds are so important to a healthy future.
